Busy hours
They are among the last to get the system of the dealers in Gumpen Gruppen. With 60-70 car through their workshop every day, they’ve much looked forward to getting this in order in Porsgrunn.
“The customer can now deliver and pick up their car, whenever it might suit them”, says Gyda Riis, head of service market at Gumpens Auto Grenland.

Gumpen Gruppen consists of 13 dealerships. The main office is in Kristiansand, but the different locations are spread out from Lyngdal in the south-west, through to Porsgrunn and Notodden in the south-east. Head office has chosen to install Sharebox at all locations.
“This is simply because we believe this is the solution of the future”, says Fosseli.
Gumpen hasn’t only chosen to install Sharebox at the dealerships.
“Upon getting to know the product and seeing what opportunities that lie in the Sharebox solution, we decided to invest in the company as well. We really believe that this will be a hit in Europe”, Fosseli says.

As a customer, you can sort everything at one of the Shareboxes. That includes payment. There is a key drop-off and pick-up for both customer and dealership.
“In our Shareboxes we use Nets Easy as our payment provider. You can pay through Vipps, with credit/debit car or get an invoice”, Riis says.
“Sharebox is something completely different to a key drop-off. It’s an immersive experience. It makes sure the customer gets a good experience at delivery and handout of a courtesy car when they wish. Additionally, they can pay there, and we get the money transferred immediately”, says Eivind Fosseli, group director of service market in Gumpen Gruppen.
Pay at the box
Gumpens Auto Grenland is a one-stop-shop in Porsgrunn. They deal in new and used Audi and Volkswagen cars. They employ 110 in a 145,000 sq. ft facility.
The first Gumpen Gruppen dealership was established downtown Kristiansand in 1936. Today, they employ more than 380 people, spread out on locations in Lyngdal, Mandal, Kristiansand and Grenland. Gumpen Gruppen sells more than 7,000 cars annually.
As of today, Sharebox works as a standalone system for the Gumpen dealerships. Important customer processes work from the get-go. Next step is to integrate Sharebox into the Gumpen IT systems. That will open even further possibilities.
“It’s not fully integrated into our systems just yet, but we’re hoping to get that sorted in the next year or so”, Fosseli says.
“When done, everything will be completely seamless for our customers, not to mention our workshop processes. We will see vast possibilities for efficiency gains on the service market. If our customers want to use Sharebox even more, there might be a possibility of us not having to have a physical customer desk, and we can allocate these resources to tasks more suited for us”, he continues.
Will be integrated
Back in Porsgrunn, Gyda Riis is visibly happy with the upgrade. For them, it’s not a solution to replace a working customer centre with a box mounted on the wall and an app on the phone. As for how they’re organised, this doesn’t make much of a difference, but the service and flexibility they can offer their customers have made a leap forward.
“We have manned customer desks, with one for Audi and two for Volkswagen, and we will continue to have that. You’re more than welcome to visit us”, Gyda Riis says.
When it finally was time for Porsgrunn, installation and configuration went quick and smooth. Sharebox has rolled out their system at numerous locations. Gumpens Auto Grenland experienced the whole process as streamlined.
“We had the dialogue with the electrician and those laying the groundwork ourselves, but they could discuss with Sharebox directly if needed. We only had to follow the template, really. It went very smoothly, with good input from Sharebox”, Gyda Riis says.
